The origins

Luigi Musetti establishes "La Casa del Caffè," a shop in the center of Piacenza, at 14 Garibaldi Street. Every day, he prepares the first Musetti coffee with love and patience, using only a small roasting machine. However, his efforts are rewarded by the satisfaction of his customers.

World War II

The State blocks coffee imports, making it very difficult to obtain the raw material. For Luigi, a tough period of hardship and poverty begins, made even more challenging by the fear of continuous bombings. Fortunately, he manages to survive. After the war ends, he rolls up his sleeves and starts expanding his business. The city is hungry for progress, the first cars start to circulate, and people begin to smile again. All the conditions are there to realize his big dream. With the help of his wife Dina and their children Lucia and Achille, Luigi seizes the opportunity and decides to transform his small business into a company.

A new era

The dream comes true and Musetti becomes a company. Minister Umberto Tupini and Senator Alfredo Conti from Piacenza participate in the inauguration of the new headquarters on Viale Sant'Ambrogio. For the Musetti family, a new great adventure begins.

The travels of Musetti

Luigi Musetti is a man who thinks big and knows that his passion for coffee will take him far. He starts traveling to promote the quality of his product, to the point that in the 1970s, Musetti coffee made its debut at the first important trade fair in the industry. However, that period is also marked by some bad news: the passing of Luigi due to a serious illness. His wife Dina, supported by their children Lucia and Achille, continues with the business. Lucia takes care of purchasing raw coffee, tasting the raw material, and oversees all production aspects. On the other hand, Achille starts traveling, just as his father had done, to create a network of contacts that eventually allows him to make Musetti appreciated internationally. France, the United States, Japan, England: within a few years, Musetti becomes an international product.

The Piacenza Food Consortium

The Piacenza Food Consortium was born from the will of Achille Musetti, together with three other founding partners and with the support of the local Chamber of Commerce, and plays a fundamental role in the economy of Piacenza, initiating the internationalization process of small and medium-sized enterprises in the agri-food sector: the objective is to export local excellences. The Consortium comprises seventy-five companies, known for their solidity and tradition but above all for the quality of their products, some of which are guaranteed by specific Protection Consortia. Achille Musetti, always looking to the future, joins Musetti to the Consortium, thus increasing the visibility of their own brand and continuing the work of his father in foreign markets.

The new generations

Unfortunately, Dina also passes away. The baton is handed over to Lucia and Achille's children, Lucia and Achille, the second generation of the Musetti family. During those same years, Lucia's son, Guido, and Achille's daughter, Silvia, also join the company. They all start working together to grow the business and carry on the family dream.

2003

The establishment

Musetti moves to Pontenure, in the province of Piacenza. Here, they build a modern facility where technological innovations allow the company to better process the raw material, in order to offer a superior quality coffee. A vacuum packaging method is developed, which allows the intense aroma of true Italian espresso to be preserved for a longer period. In 2003, Musetti Coffee Academy is also founded, the Italian school where professionals and coffee lovers from around the world learn the secrets of Italian espresso, decoration, and coffee-based cocktails.
